Apex Trader Funding Review 2026: Rules, Payout Structure, Verdict
Last updated: July 2026. Apex is the largest futures prop firm by trading volume, and its rules changed significantly this year — if you last looked at Apex before March 2026, what you remember is out of date.
The March 2026 overhaul
Apex replaced its old monthly subscription fee model with one-time payments, removed the restrictive MAE (maximum adverse excursion) and risk/reward rules that used to trip up traders on rule technicalities rather than real losses, and introduced a choice between End-of-Day and Intraday trailing drawdown calculation.
The consistency rule, explained
Funded accounts operate under a 50% consistency rule: no single trading day can account for more than 50% of your total profit at the time of payout. This replaced an older, stricter 30% rule — a meaningful loosening that makes it harder to get disqualified by one unusually good day skewing your consistency ratio.
Payout structure
Apex uses tiered payout caps across your first 6 withdrawals, with the maximum withdrawal amount increasing at each tier. After 6 total payouts, that specific funded account closes — a structure worth understanding before you're mid-cycle and surprised by it. Apex reports paying out over $700 million to date and offers 100% of your first $25K in funded profits.
Pricing reality
Apex runs frequent 50–80% off promotions, heavily distributed through affiliate and social channels — at discounted pricing, a $50K evaluation can run as low as roughly $35/month, making it one of the cheapest ways into a futures evaluation when a promotion is live. Always check the current live price rather than any figure quoted in an article, since these promotions rotate.
Bottom line
Apex's 2026 rule changes (simpler pricing, loosened consistency rule, removal of MAE/risk-reward traps) make it a meaningfully more trader-friendly firm than its earlier version — worth a fresh look even if you ruled it out before March 2026. We'll add pricing links here if an affiliate relationship becomes available; for now, check pricing directly on their site.
